13-14 is not terrible but not exactly where the Brewers wanted to be on May 1. But why??
The pitching has been there 3.62 ERA. The fielding up until the last 2 days has been way better than expected, even Yuni B for the most part. The hitting is there .275 team BA and Braun and Fielder both have a case for NL player of the month for April. full stats here
So after nearly 4 hours on the road I get home and came to this conclusion: I don't get it.
This team should be winning more, if Gallardo gets back on track (and I assume he will) and Greinke comes back healthy there is no reason they won't. The hitting will obviously be there (a few hits from Casey McGehee wouldn't hurt).
Other notes:
-Hart would benefit greatly from going back to batting 2nd but then 6-9 is basically going to be a punt most games.
-with Greinke and Nyjer Morgan getting to the team this week some guys gotta go. I vote for Kintzler and Braddock to get back to 5 position players off the bench although Estrada would also work so as to keep him starting games in case of another injury.
Prince Fielder's home run Friday night wasn't 450' as reported from
Mark Kotsay still sucks
**Ed note, my internet went in and out several times trying to write this so if it appears a bit scatterbrained I'm blaming it on that
