Another road loss, a shutout even. 16-31 on the road. That is 2002 quality sucking.
I was going to do an update on home/road numbers then I came across an interesting article on fangraphs about wOBA.
As a Brewers fan one singular number stood out.
Their 5th spot has a .255 wOBA (stat dork definition here) which is worse than every team position disregarding pitchers in the majors save for the Twins and Mariners 8th hitters (wow they must be hitting blind guys 8th).
That number is merely 10 points higher than the Diamondbacks pitcher slot.
This is not meant to be an indictment of Casey McGehee. I've already done that.
No I'm going in a completely different direction.
Blow up the lineup.
Why not??
Something needs to change, let's throw some darts at the wall and hope we hit
Suggestion 1:
1. Morgan/Gomez
2. McGehee
3. Braun
4. Fielder
5. Weeks
6. Hart
7. Lucroy
8. Yuni
move Casey up, get him better pitches to hit under less pressure and maybe he turns it around. Weeks moves back to 5 to take care of that situation.
suggestion 2:
1. Weeks
2. Hart
3. McGehee
4. Braun
5. Fielder
6. Morgan/Gomez
7. Lucroy
8. Yuni
Hart has been better hitting in the 2 hole, McGehee again benefits from hitting in front of Braun and Fielder. Nyjer and Carlos both can provide a spark later in the order.
suggestion 3:
1. Hart
2. McGehee
3. Braun
4. Fielder
5. Weeks
6. CF
7. Lucroy
8. Yuni
ok, no
suggestion 4:
1. Weeks
2. Morgan/Gomez
3. McGehee
4. Fielder
5. Braun
6. Hart
7. Lucroy
8. Yuni
I kind of like this one. Again McGehee gets to hit in front of Prince, Prince gets to hit in front of Braun. Hart gets bounced to 6 but that helps the 2nd half of the lineup.
