Cubs Need Extra Frames to Get Past Brewers
The Chicago Cubs weathered a fine game by Milwaukee first baseman Prince
Fielder to upend the Brewers, 7-5, at Miller Park. Fielder was 3-4 with 2 home
runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The Cubs raised their
record to 7-1. Chicago relied on the bat of Aramis Ramirez to get the win. The
third baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the
Cubs ahead, 6-5. For the game, Ramirez had 1 double and 1 home run in 5
at-bats. "We put it together today and came out with the win," Ramirez said in
postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

Another extra inning loss to the Cubs. Pitching was rough for the
starters with both giving up 5 runs until the bullpens took over keeping runs
off the board until newly acquired Bastardo ran out of gas in the 11th giving
up a HR to Brewer killer Aramis Ramirez (we should sign him). Prince
Fielder hit 2 HRs in the loss.
